I recently collaborated with fellow writer-academic Lisa Bennett on a scholarly article that explores the potential of creative practice as research in Old Norse-Icelandic studies, in particular through the adoption of female characters' points of view in contemporary re-tellings of the Sagas of Icelanders (or, Íslendingasögur).
The article is structured as a dialogue between Lisa and me, a format that allows us to develop the topic in relation to each other's creative practice, namely Lisa's new book Viking Women and my novel The Sorrow Stone.
The article is open access and available here.
