Triptych

I have three stories out this past week - on Darwin, Hong Kong, and the Lighthouse Route of Nova Scotia. I'm not sure I can justifiably label them a triptych, but if there is a narrative that crosses the three panels it's that most regular concern of travel writers: how people respond to their environment. Darwin is a city that's had to struggle against natural disaster; Hong Kong one that sits improbably on the narrow bridge between mountains and sea; and, in Nova Scotia, you find a road of lighthouses that once hoped to bring sailors home, in from the perils of the sea.

All three are published in Escape, and are available online here (Darwin), here (Hong Kong), and there (Nova Scotia).
